(And this was playing on PS3, for the “full” genuine DOD3 experience Lmfao) I played it at the end of 2021 and into 2022 and it became my top Taro game, kicking Automata out of my personal number one spot. In DoD1 weapons arent leveled up by exp but specifically 'kills' and in DoD3 you have the blood meter which charges up intoner mode by killing and even on the back of the box it says 'carnage has never look so beautiful' (im paraphasing probably but still). Oddly i never see the same complaintes about DoD1 to me the game was about the worst of humanity failing to get the happy ending and how it was deserved.Īlthough i do have complaintes about both games for example killing is supposed to be the wrong thing to do (despite being mandatory) but both games reward killing too. Personally the 4th wall breaking was helpful to show the character personalites early on because after four's death the wall breaking was near enough gone.Īnd when it comes to the story, i never really thought it was about the story but about lore and characters surrounding it. Specifically they call the 4th wall breaking annoying and some even say this in yoko taro's least impressive game. Ive been look at a few comment sections and videos reviewing the game and the general idea i get from these is that not many like its story and characters. TL:DR - Im hoping the only reason i enjoyed DoD3 was because it cost so much so i'd like to know the general thoughts on the game.( Edit: i meant wasnt, sorry.)
